2023 Player/ Parent Code of Conduct Agreement 

This player/ parent code of conduct is not intended to be an all‐inclusive list of rules concerning player/ parent behavior. All players and parents registered to play on a Levittown American team are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is above and beyond respectful of others and reflects positively on the Levittown American community. 

Sportsmanship: All players and parents must learn and display a sense of fair play. Be humble in victory, gracious in defeat. Players and parents must represent the Levittown American community by showing good sportsmanship at all times, win or lose. 

Respect, Integrity and Pursuit of Excellence: All players and parents must treat all others as you expect to be treated. Strive to perform each aspect of the game to the highest level of your ability and with the highest level of integrity and fair play. Support your team and teammates at all times. Respect all opponents’ players and parents at all times. Strive to excellence. 

Player Conduct: Each player will agree to the following: 

1.     Respect your Coaches, Teammates, Parents, Opponents, Spectators, and Umpires. 

2.     Never argue with an umpire’s call or decision. 

3.     No swearing, harassment, or inappropriate behavior or language will be tolerated. 

4.     No throwing of any equipment or any other items. This includes during practices, games and while at our and other leagues complexes. 

5.     Always have a positive attitude win or lose. 

6.     Teamwork is not a preference; it is a requirement‐ Encourage one another. 

7.     Always support your team and teammates. Be the first to praise others and the last brag or draw attention to yourself. 

8.     Be the first to lead by example and the last to violate team standards or rules. 

9.     Attend every practice and every game, and agree to notify your coach if you cannot be there. 

10.  Be responsible to help clean up the field, dugout after all practices and games. 

11.   No use of Tobacco, Alcohol, Drugs or vape apparatuses will be tolerated 

12.   No defaming of coaches, teammates VIA any electronic or social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) text messages, etc. 

13.   Work at home to improve your skills. Always pay attention to your coach’s instructions. 

14.   Always give your best effort in practices and games. When you fail, do your best again. 

15.   HAVEFUN... 

Parent/ Guardian Responsibility: Each parent will agree to the following:  (This also includes all family members and friends of players attending games.)

1.     Allow for a 24hour “COOLDOWN, be OBJECTIVE” period before you discuss any serious concerns you have with a coach before communicating with that coach in a constructive and adult manner. 

2.     Respect all Coaches, Teammates, Parents, Opponents, Spectators, and Umpires. 

3.     Be respectful of your coach’s decisions. Remember they are the ones that are putting in the extra time and effort. 

4.     Ask how you can help your coaches out at practices, and games.

5.     Encourage your child to play by the rules. Remember that children learn best by example, be supportive of both teams when good plays are made.

6.     Do not embarrass your team by yelling at players, coaches, umpires or spectators. By showing a positive attitude toward the game and all of its participants your child will benefit. Any parent that cannot refrain from such behavior will be asked to leave. 

7.     Refrain from coaching your child or other players during games and practices, unless you are one of the official coaches of the team.

8.     Have your player at practices and games on time. If there are circumstances that will prevent this communicate this to the coach in a timely manner. 

9.     Spend time with my child at home on skill development. Use positive encouragement to your player, his or her teammates, and coaches. All people perform at their best when they feel they are supported 

10.   Inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of your child or the safety of others.

11.   No defaming of coaches, players, or other parents VIA any electronic or social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) text messages, etc. 

12.   No use of Tobacco, Alcohol, Drugs or vape apparatuses will be tolerated.

Anti‐Harassment Policy: Each player/parent will agree to the following: No player or parent shall engage in violent behavior toward another player or parent because of his/her race, religion, sex, or ethnic origin. No player or parent shall engage in verbal conduct related to another player or parent because of his/her race, religion, sex, or ethnic origin when the conduct: 

·       ● creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive team environment. 

·       ● substantially or reasonably interferes with a player’s team participation. 

·       ● Adversely affects a player’s team opportunities. 

Any player or parent found to have engaged in such prohibited conduct shall be subject to disciplinary action up to and including immediate dismissal and/ or a formal apology to the offended individual. 

Discipline Policy/Consequences: Each player and parent are advised of the following discipline policy and consequences for any and all inappropriate conduct. 

Any and All actions may include but are not limited to the following repercussions:

1.     Verbal warning 

2.     Meeting with the Rules Committee

3.     Suspension 

4.     Dismissal

Rules of Play: 

Levittown American Rookie Division Rules 7-8yr olds

It is the objective of the rules listed below to be a guide to an enjoyable and instructive game. The rules are not to be taken so seriously, nor interpreted so stringently as to hinder these objectives. Any overzealous protest, appeal, criticism, or such behavior shall be considered not in the best interest of our program and will not be tolerated. Managers are responsible for their staff and parents. The Levittown American Athletic Association Board requests that team managers ease up when there is a lopsided game. Winning attitudes are good, but show some restraint when playing a team that is having a bad day.

General Rules

  1. Babe Ruth rules are in effect unless stated otherwise.

  2. Each game is played a maximum of six (6) innings.

  3. The league will supply an umpire to call the plays on the field. If an umpire fails to show up, managers please pick someone to umpire the game. (Kids in the Major divisions can Ump in the Rookies and Shorties Division $10.00)

  4. The umpire will supply game balls, if no umpire game balls will be given at concession stand

  5. Rain outs will be decided by league officials 1⁄2 hour before game start time. Sign up for alerts from the automated system. All decisions after that will be made by the umpire.

  6. The visiting team is required to rake in any holes and put the bases away.

  7. The home team will set up by lining the field and the batter boxes.

  8. There will be nine (9) typical defensive positions. Six (6) infield and three (3) outfield. All Players play defense every inning by adding outfield positions.

  9. If a team does not have nine (9) players, the managers are to work it out amongst themselves.

  10. There will be a 15 foot arc in front of home plate that the ball must pass for the play to be live. Any ball that does not cross the arc will be called a foul ball and replayed

  11. There is NO infield fly rule in effect

  12. Kid pitch - 2 innings. Pitcher will be removed if has 3 walked batters in a row or 2 hit batters, a coach will come in and finish the inning. Coach pitch is 6 pitches with no walks. Batter is out on either 3 strikes swinging or on the 6th pitch if not put into play (if batter fouls last pitch he will get another pitch until it is put in play or swung on and missed)

  13. There is free substitution in the field. Each player must play at least three (3) innings in the field. Of the three (3) innings, once during the first two innings. One (1) inning out of the three must be in the infield.  

     *Everyone is to play on defense by the end of the second inning.                                                                                                                                                    *Everyone is to play three (3) innings in the field.                    *Everyone has to play an infield position for one (1) inning.

14. Outfielders must lineup and field the position from the grass.

15. Infielders must be either one step behind or in front of the base path

  1. The league will supply an umpire to call the plays on the field. If an umpire is unavailable, managers must agree on someone to umpire the game

  2. It is mandatory that the managers or coaches keep order on and off the field. Do not allow players to run around during play.

  3. Catchers must wear a protective cup and all other players are encouraged to.

  4. All play stops when the ball is returned to the infield (inside the base paths) and a fielder has control of the ball or if the pitcher has the ball on the mound.

  5. Try to keep players on the bench in order to speed up play of game. Only the batter and the on deck batter will be allowed out of the dugouts.

  6. Teams will bat the number of players in their lineup equal to the number of players in uniform. If a player arrives after the start of the game, he is placed at the bottom of the order.

  7. Teams will bat until there are three (3) outs, OR 5 runs scored in the inning, whichever comes first. The last called inning of the game by the Umpire will be unlimited runs

  8. There are NO fake bunt/swing plays allowed by a batter.

24. Batting helmets will be worn while batting and running the bases. Players are not to take off helmets until they are in the dugout area.

25. There is no advancing on overthrown balls in the infield to 1st base or 3rd base
26. There are NO head first slides going forward to the base, ONLY returning to a passed base. An automatic out will be called if going forward.

27. Stealing is permitted to 3rd base only. Pass balls included.
28. On weekends only: No inning can be started after 1 hour 45 minutes. Drop dead at 2 hours. Last Inning must be called by Umpire prior to 2hr drop

29. Only USA approved bats are allowed
30. If anyone gets ejected from a game he/she will be given a mandatory one (1) game suspension.

31. NO games, once they start will be rescheduled due to darkness, weather, etc.

18. A pitcher can only pitch two (2) consecutive innings per game. One (1) pitch is considered an inning.

19. Try to keep players on the bench in order to speed up play of game. Only the batter and the on deck batter will be allowed out of the dugouts.

20. Teams will bat the number of players in their lineup equal to the number of players in uniform. If a player arrives after the start of the game, he is placed at the boom of the order.

21. Teams will bat until there are three (3) outs, OR 5 runs scored in the inning, whichever comes first. The last called inning of the game by the Umpire will be unlimited runs

23. Bang helmets will be worn while bang and running the bases. Players are not to take off helmets until they are in the dugout area.

24. A base runner may advance more than one base on an overthrow except 3rd base. Runners cannot advance past 3rd base unless they are hit in or walked in until the week after Mother’s Day. Runners starting at 3rd base must hit in or walked into home, until after Mother’s Day

25. Players may only steal 2nd and 3rd. There is no stealing home. A runner can only score from third on batter’s performance. The runner can score if a ball is hit into play and the fielders throw the ball around.

26. There are NO head first slides going forward to the base, ONLY returning to a passed base. An automatic out will be called if going forward.

27. Stealing is not permitted when a team is up by seven (7) or more runs.

28. A pinch runner may be inserted for the catcher if he is on the base with two outs. The runner will be the runner/batter who made the second out. If the substitute runner is the pitcher for the next inning, the player making the first out in the inning may be used.

29. On weekends only: No inning can be started after 1 hour 45 minutes. Drop dead at 2 hours. Last Inning must be called by Umpire prior to 2hr drop

30. If anyone gets ejected from a game he/she will be given a mandatory one (1) game suspension. 31. Only USA approved bats are allowed
32. NO games, once they start will be rescheduled due to darkness, weather, etc.
33. No running to 2nd on a walk.

Levittown American Major Division 11-12yr olds

It is the objective of the rules listed below to be a guide to an enjoyable and instructive game. The rules are not to be taken so seriously, nor interpreted so stringently as to hinder these objectives. Any overzealous protest, appeal, criticism, or such behavior shall be considered not in the best interest of our program and will not be tolerated. Managers are responsible for their staff and parents. The Levittown American A. A. Board requests that team managers ease up when there is a lopsided game. Winning attitude is good, but show some restraint when playing a team that is having a bad day.

3. The game is played on a 70’ diamond with a pitching distance of 50’.

4. The umpire will supply game balls.

5. Rain outs will be decided by league officials 1⁄2 hour before game start me. Call clubhouse at 215-949-0965 for updated inclement weather info. All decisions after that will be made by the umpire.

9. There is a dropped 3rd strike rule.

10. There will be nine (9) defensive positions. Six (6) infield and three (3) outfield. 11. If a team does not have nine (9) players, the managers are to work it out

12. There is free subsistution in the field. Each player must play at least three (3) innings in the field. Of the three (3) innings, once during the first two innings. One (1) inning out of the three must be in the infield.

C.) Everyone has to play an infield protective for one (1) inning.

15. Catchers must wear a protective cup and all other players are encouraged to.
16. A pitcher must be taken out if he hits two (2) batters in an inning or three (3) batters in a game.
17. A pitcher can only pitch two (2) consecutive innings per game. One (1) pitch is considered an inning.
18. Balk rules; Pitchers will be given warnings for commitng balks. Starting the week after Mother’s day, base runners will be given one base when a pitcher commits a balk

A.) The pitcher must step off the pitching rubber before throwing to a base.
B.) The pitcher must pause once in the set protective.
C.) The pitcher, once on the pitching rubber in the stretch protective, cannot turn his shoulder to the base.

19. There are unlimited walks

20. Try to keep players on the bench in order to speed up play of game. Only the batter and the on deck batter will be allowed out of the dugouts.

21. If a player arrives after the start of the game, he is placed at the boom of the order.

22. Teams will bat until there are three (3) outs.

23. There are NO fake bunt/swing plays allowed by a batter.

24. Bang helmets will be worn while bang and running the bases. Players are not to take off helmets until they are in the dugout area.

25. A runner is allowed one (1) base on an overthrow that goes out of the playing area agreed upon at the ground rules meeting before the game.

26. The base runner can take leads

27. There are NO headfirst slides going forward to the base, ONLY returning to a passed base. An automatic out will be called if going forward.

28. A pinch runner may be inserted for the catcher if he is on the base with two outs. The runner will be the runner/batter who made the second out. If the substitute runner is the pitcher for the next inning, the player making the first out in the inning may be used.

29. No inning can be started after 1 hour 45 minutes. Drop dead at 2 hrs
30. If anyone gets ejected from a game he/she will be given a mandatory one (1) game suspension. 31. Only USA approved bats are allowed
32. NO games, once they start will be rescheduled due to darkness, weather, etc.
33. 15 run mercy rule after 4 innings for play offs only
34. NO STEALING when a Team is up 7 or more runs
